Maasai Hostel Tanzania

Pros: Very nice host, clean, good breakfast. Close to the airport.

Cons: WiFi not working. Bad road.

Pros: The room was great. Swahiba is an amazing host and he was super helpful when our flight was moved to a different airport. Totally recommended.

Pros: A very clean, comfortable hostel. We were very impressed with our room and the facilities in general. It felt very homey but still very clean. Swahiba and his girlfriend are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. They showed us all the best local spots to go to and we even did a last minute day trip tour of Arusha with Swahiba which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would highly recommend this lovely hostel- which felt more like a home away from home than a hostel!

Cons: There was no wifi during our stay, and telephone service in the rooms was very touch and go

Pros: Had an amazing time with Swahiba, the owner if the hostel and his dog, Diego - the cutest, funniest dog of all times. Really comfortable bed Close to the airport and city Swahiba (what a funny, friendly, interesting guy - thanks again for the cool evening talk) Amazing breakfast Hot water shower Diego!!!

Cons: 1. A mosquito net would have been great - but if you close the windows early enough, that should also be no problem (our fault for not doing so). 2. That we didn't stay longer

Pros: It was as it says on Booking. Long way from town, but in a real African suburb, which is great for travellers to witness. I liked it, a nice communal area and the host was super helpful.

Cons: A few dogs outside bark and the internet was not working, but hay, I was supposed to be on holiday to enjoy and not stuck on the Internet.

Pros: We loved our stay at Maasai Hostel. Swahiba, were wonderful hosts, helping answering all of our questions and making our stay extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the included breakfast and dinner for $10 USD per person each night, which was delicious (and very generous portions)! The wifi was also strong, rooms were clean and the house was a manageable walk from the Mall and culture heritage Would highly recommend staying here - especially for a relaxing few days before or after a safari - also Swahiba help coordinate the safari for five days is real amazing. Is easy to book the hostel and safari at Maasai hostel. Looking to come back.

Great host and value for money

Pros: Swahiba was a great host. He came to point our taxi the right way to the hostel, and quickly arranged a tuktuk for us to go into town. The room itself was basic but clean. Overall it was really good value for money.

Cons: Be aware that the location is a bit out of town, you’ll have to take a tuktuk or motorcyle to get there. These can easily be arranged through Swahiba so for us it was not a problem

Een echte Arusha ervaring

Pros: Dit hostel boek je niet voor overbodige luxe, maar voor een authentieke ervaring met een hele vriendelijke gastheer. Swahiba heeft mij op sleeptouw genomen door zijn stad Arusha en hele mooie plekken laten zien. Hij steunt eindeloze projecten in de gemeenschap, zo kan je er zeker van zijn dat wat je bij hem organiseert aan transport, tours, verblijf, etc bij de juiste mensen terecht komt. Qua prijs-kwaliteit ga je in Arusha denk ik niks beters vinden. Ik zou zeker terugkomen om te verblijven of überhaupt even gedag te zeggen, zeker een aanrader!

really wonderful and very good value for money

Pros: Belinda and Swahiba are absolutely wonderful hosts, and both of them went out of their way to help me. The dinner was really excellent. And they have a lovely dog, Diego

Cons: The only real problem was that the wifi didn't work. Swahiba explained to me the trouble he was having and hoped to have it back in operation soon. There were also occasional powercuts, and the water was sometimes off. But this is Africa, and that happens.
