Tanzanice Farm Lodge

Did what it needed to but disappointing.

Pros: We chose it for proximity to the crater and community benefits. It fulfilled these requirements and pool was very pleasant addition.

Cons: Possibly treat my review as an anomaly because we were literally the only four people in the hotel one night so it was a skeleton staff and the service and food reflected it. Bizarrely half a banana each for desert…. no waste! No aircon, and no fans available.

Great place to stay for a safari tour to Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Manyara

Pros: Beautiful property, tucked away from central Karatu town. Car required to get to town. Great place to stay for a safari tour to Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Manyara. Good water pressure and breakfast. Dinner options were varied every day and they cooked traditional corn Ugali with greens and curry one evening on request. The staff was super awesome and they even baked a cake to celebrate a surprise birthday party!

A great find, we would stay again!

Pros: Beautiful grounds and space to unwind at the pool. Delicious meals and friendly staff. We were able to take a walk through the village from the property and explore the area.

Cons: Nothing.

Great hospitality - wonderful people

Pros: Great hospitality - feeling fast at home - diversity of breakfast and dinner with local produce -natural location in the midst of farm- and woodland -easy walk to the coffee farm near by

Amazing Stay at Farm Lodge!

Pros: We had a fantastic experience at this beautiful Farm Lodge. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The vegetarian dinner was outstanding – one of the best we’ve ever had! Breakfast was also delicious and offered a great variety. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable. Overall, it was a perfect stay.

great scenery, super fair prices and very clean. But the people / family who works there made the place great

Wonderful views of the surrounding countryside

Pros: We opted for a second brief stay at this lovely guesthouse en route from the Serengeti and were upgraded to a room in the bungalow, which we were grateful for, as we enjoyed the wonderful views from the patio. Dinner was delicious, however, breakfast was a little chaotic. Despite being slightly late as we had to wait for the water to come on to be able to shower and being asked what time we would like breakfast, we were not expected and had to lay our own table.

Cons: No apologies for the lack of water in the morning to shower. My daughter was woken early by other guest’s alarm clocks going off in the main house, as there seems to be little sound proofing there

A green oasis

Pros: After a long and dusty journey to Karatu, this guest house seemed like a little oasis. We were warmly welcomed by Olivia and the staff with juice before being shown to our rooms. We stayed in the bungalow outside, with a beautiful view of the garden especially sunset. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast the next morning. We ordered packed lunches, which were substantial for our needs during a long day on safari. Olivia also organised for our laundry to be done.

Pros: Amazing staff who helped us SO MUCH to plan the visit and game drives. Everything was excellent! I can not reccomend more if you want to visit park around NgoroNgoro. Also, the food was delicious.
