Mai Kilimanjaro Home Stay

A wonderful stay. Felt like family. Will definitely return. So much on offer her!!

Pros: This is Paradise in Kilimanjaro. This is not my first stay and each time is exceptional. Amadeus is a great host! And he organised a safari trip for me which is was marvellous! Saw the Big Five!!! And the tours around the Home Stay and Mt Kilimanjaro were great. Locally grown Food was delicious! Fresh coffee also from the Home Stay . Highly recommend !

Magical!

Pros: The homestay from Amadeus is a magical place. You feel very welcome and it is the perfect place to arrive or unwind. We loved it here. The Cook Ignaz deserves another 5 stars. His cuisine is fantastic, authentic and fresh. If you want to take a very special piece of Africa with you, you should definitely book here. We will come back!

Pros: Nicely situated at the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, quiet neighborhood and beautiful views. You will stay very local, kind and service minded team; cook, guide and host. Good bed and bathroom (warm water). From the main road you need to hike 20-25 minutes to the accommodation, but host can sent a teammember to help with the luggage. Good value for money, would go there again!

Third stay here, as it’s a hidden paradise. And so much to do or just sit and relax! It offers everything!

Pros: Best Host Amadeus!! The quiet surrounding - fabulous location. The wonderful family feel- so welcoming!! The meals- great cook.

Pros: Beautiful place to stay on Kilimanjaro! Amadeus' place has an incredible athmosphere. We enjoyed some great walking tours, joined a coffee production, had many delicious meals and great chats with everyone around the bonfire. Would always stay again!

Best place to stay in Tanzania

Pros: I have just had the most wonderful holiday at Amadeus’s homestay. It’s a magic wonderland!! The hospitality is amazing. The whole team are wonderful. I was fortunate enough to return here after one year, to go on a 5 day safari which Amadeus organised. Saw the Big Five. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Came back to the Homestay, before setting off on a trek up Kilimanjaro!! Amadeus is also a professional mountain guide and he put together a great 3 day trek up the mountain , which is walking distance from the Homestay!! It was an amazing trek and I highly recommend it. You don’t have to go to the summit to enjoy the beauty of Kilimanjaro National Park!! The Homestay itself was amazing. Delicious 3 course home cooked meals! Home grown honey and coffee! Best coffee ever!! Such a peaceful relaxing atmosphere !! My friend and I were made to feel like family! By staying here with Amadeus, who is so generous and kind, I felt that it was also a chance to support the local community.

Pros: the people were the best, they are kind hearted and funny people always looking to make sure you have the best experience!

Prachtige oase naast de Kilimanjaro

Pros: Alles is echt top. Het uitzicht, de mensen die er werken, de sfeer en prachtige locatie. Er is een waterval waar je kunt zwemmen naast de accomodatie en het ligt op loopafstand van de ingang van de Kilimanjaro. Het uitzicht vanaf je kamer in de accommodatie is prachtig. Het dorp Marangu is sfeervol, alle mensen zijn super aardig en verwelkomend. De host heeft de Tanzaniaanse cultuur met ons gedeeld. We kregen locale gerechten te proeven, hebben rond het kampvuur gezeten, gelachen, en ze hebben ons meegenomen door de buurt. Het voelt alsof we hier familie rijker zijn en we zouden iedereen een verblijf hier aanraden!

Pros: Een rustige stek met uitzicht. Zuivere lucht op 1800mtr hoogte. Heb je speciale(activiteiten) wensen dan zijn deze te vervullen. De kok levert op hoog niveau de maaltijden aan een overdekte tafel. Een topkok. De homestay is een van de laaste op de helling van de Kilimanjaro. De laatste 3km naar de homestay gaat over slechte paden.

Lovely quiet location

Pros: Beautiful location set in the village about a km from Marangu gate. Close to a waterfall for swimming and at night a welcoming fire to sit by. Food was great and plentiful. Lots of trails to explore in the area and the opportunity to hike Kilimanjaro for a day hike or to the top. To get to the home stay you can go by boda boda or taxi from marangu town/bus station; the roads to the village are very rough. Staff and host did everything to make our stay very pleasurable. Thank you.
